2026 Senior Metropolitan Winter Championships
Hauppauge Finishes 7th Overall in Program's Best Senior Mets Performance

The Biggest Stage in Metro Swimming
The Senior Metropolitan Winter Championships is the premier championship meet in Metropolitan Swimming. It features the fastest swimmers across more than 70 teams in the region, with a single qualifying standard for each event. This is a four-day prelim and finals meet held at the Nassau County Aquatic Center, and it is open to any age. The field regularly includes Olympic-caliber athletes and world-class swimmers alongside the next generation of talent making their mark for the first time.
7th in the Metro
Hauppauge Swimming sent 29 athletes to this year's championship and came home with 357 points and a 7th place combined team finish, the highest in program history. On the men's side, Hauppauge finished 6th with 249 points. On the women's side, 7th with 108. Only 26 of Metro's 70+ teams scored a single point at this meet. To finish in the top 10 on both sides is a statement about where our program stands.
Three Team Records
The meet produced three new Hauppauge team records. Tyler Gallub broke the team record in the 200 Freestyle with a 1:42.83 in prelims. The men's 400 Freestyle Relay of E. Czeremcha, Sweeney, Er. Czeremcha, and Gallub went 3:06.09 to finish 4th overall. And the women's 400 Freestyle Relay of Wilcox, King, Esposito, and Chiofolo set a new mark of 3:33.61.
